GNSS / NMEA / NTRIP / coordinate lookup

NMEA, GNSS, NTRIP, and coordinate diagnostics tools

A local diagnostic path for NMEA sentence parsing, NMEA checksums, NTRIP Source-Table review, STR line generation, coordinate order checks, coordinate format conversion, and Geohash encoding.

Direct answer

When debugging GNSS, RTK, or positioning data, parse the NMEA sentence type, fields, coordinate direction, and XOR checksum first, then inspect NTRIP Source-Table or STR fields, and finally verify latitude/longitude order, decimal/DMS formats, and Geohash coverage. Chakan only performs local text and coordinate calculations; it does not connect to receivers, maps, geocoders, NTRIP casters, or account credentials, and it does not prove that a device, base station, or mountpoint is online.

Common lookup scenarios

Parse GGA, RMC, and similar NMEA sentence fields

Verify or generate NMEA XOR checksums

Review NTRIP Source-Table and STR line fields

Catch reversed latitude and longitude order

Convert decimal degrees, DMS, and Geohash values

Recommended workflow

  1. Paste a synthetic or public-example NMEA sentence and parse its fields
  2. Verify the hexadecimal value after the asterisk with the checksum tool
  3. Inspect Source-Table and STR line structure with the NTRIP tools
  4. Check coordinate order, coordinate format, and Geohash encoding
  5. Use synthetic examples in public URLs; keep real device locations, accounts, and caster hosts private

FAQ

When debugging GNSS, RTK, or positioning data, parse the NMEA sentence type, fields, coordinate direction, and XOR checksum first, then inspect NTRIP Source-Table or STR fields, and finally verify latitude/longitude order, decimal/DMS formats, and Geohash coverage. Chakan only performs local text and coordinate calculations; it does not connect to receivers, maps, geocoders, NTRIP casters, or account credentials, and it does not prove that a device, base station, or mountpoint is online.

Does a bad NMEA checksum mean the receiver is broken?

No. Missing fields, copying the wrong checksum range, line breaks, or stray characters can all break a checksum. Validate the text range first.

Can Source-Table parsing prove that a mountpoint is online?

No. It reviews text structure only. Real online state, permission, datum, and correction quality must be checked with receiver or caster-side data.
